Civil rights icon and former Congressman John Lewis passed away three years ago this week and his predecessor made sure his legacy was front and center this week. The Atlanta Democrat spoke at an event to raise awareness for a voting rights bill Democrats reintroduced this week, a key pillar of Lewis’s activism and legislative work. Williams was also a key architect of the economic agenda the New Democrat Coalition rolled out this week to outline the priorities House Democrats will advance if they reclaim the majority next November.

The GOP firebrand who represents a mostly rural, ruby-red Georgia district brought the Republican-led House Oversight Committee to a new low. During a hearing this week, Greene showed sexually explicit images of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son while she questioned two IRS whistleblowers involved in an investigation into Hunter’s taxes. And words from a speech Greene made last week that was intended to critique the Biden administration were instead repurposed into a viral campaign ad that has received more than 41 million views in just a few days.
